Frederick Douglass High School, established in 1883, is an American public high school in the Baltimore City Public Schools district. Originally named the Colored High and Training School, Douglass is the second-oldest U.S. high school created specifically for African American students.
Frederick Douglass High School (FDHS), is an American public high school established in 1935 and located in the Croom census-designated place of unincorporated Prince George's County, Maryland, United States, with a mailing address of Upper Marlboro and near Upper Marlboro.

Frederick Douglass High School (FDHS) was the first high school for African-Americans in Prince George’s County. In 1922, Mr. Doswell E. Brooks, Supervisor of schools for African-American students, along with many community leaders, planned and raised money to build a high school.

May 22, 2023 · The Douglass High School was built in 1941 on land the county forced a group of Black families to sell for $1 after they had raised the money to purchase it. It was the only high school for Black students in Loudoun County until the end of segregation in 1968.
The Leesburg Douglass High School Alumni Association (LDAA) along with the other members of the Douglass Consortium provide tours of the Historic Douglass High School by appointment on the second and fourth Saturday of each month, at 11:00 a.m. Each tour can accommodate up to 20 participants.
