Sir David Charles Baulcombe FRS FMedSci (born 1952) is a British plant scientist and geneticist. As of 2017 he is a Royal Society Research Professor. From 2007 to 2020 he was Regius Professor of Botany in the Department of Plant Sciences at the University of Cambridge.
David Baulcombe joined Cambridge University in 2007 as Royal Society Research Professor, Regius Professor of Botany (now Emeritus) and Fellow (now Emeritus) of Trinity College. He had worked previously at the Plant Breeding Institute and the Sainsbury Laboratory in Norwich.
