Aug 13, 2019 · Once you’re an upgraded member, a username search bar will appear in your POF app under the username tab, or on the website as one of three search options. For iOS users For Android users For web users. Once you’ve typed in the username in the search bar, the results will show as a list below.
- Private Search or Not. Upon logging in and creating a profile, you need to determine if you want the person you’re looking for to find you in return.
- How to Perform a POF Search via Basic Search and Advanced Search. NOTE: To perform these types of searches on the POF website, you will need to upgrade your membership on your dating profile.
- My Matches. Click the light blue POF button at the top left of the screen. Click on “My Matches” and select the age range and distance. My Matches is more of a passive search, as users will be matched to you, immediately and over time.
- My City. Click the light blue POF button at the top left of the screen. If you haven’t had luck with the previous searches and live in the same city as the person and profile you’re looking for, another passive search is to enter in distance and location information on the “My City” selection.

You may have noticed POF’s “username search” getting harder and harder to access. Unfortunately, Plenty of Fish only offers search-by-username to paid users now. So if you want this feature, consider upgrading your account.
Search for users that fit your criteria with Plenty of Fish. We allow you to narrow down our massive list of users to match what you are looking for.
Here is a quick and easy method. Unfortunately POF has now removed the Search > Username feature so you cannot search for a Username on the site. However, there’s a way around this problem. Just go to the Google search engine and type: Site:http://www.pof.com/ USERNAME. Replace USERNAME with their username.
On Plenty of Fish, you used to be able to search by POF username right from the top of the website and app. That feature has since been hidden and then removed, unfortunately. It is still possible to search by POF username, though, with this hack: Simply open this link and type in the username you’re looking for. Hope this helps. Good Luck
