Each fall, visitors can see one of the world’s greatest gatherings of gulls and other migrating birds in Niagara Falls. Starting mid-November, the river comes alive as the rich waters attract vast number of ducks and gulls which can be seen from the Niagara River Parkway.
Spots to see migrating birds include Fort Niagara State Park, Golden Hill State Park, Wilson Pier and Olcott Pier. Along the Upper Niagara River, keep an eye out for tundra swans and waterfowl. Along the Lower Niagara River, look for snowy owls, short-eared owls, bald eagles and rough-legged hawks.
