Jun 6, 2021 · If you are checking the physical IMEI for the Sim slot, and are being told it needs to be unlocked, they are wrong. The only iPads that are locked, and not capable of being unlocked and working on another carrier are the first generation which were exclusive to AT&T, and 3g devices.
Nov 1, 2021 · IPads physical SIM cards are not locked. If you are trying to enable the esim, the esim needs to access the carrier reveal to use with another carrier. Currently, still (and idiotic ally) the only way to access carrier visibility on a previously AT&T locked esim on an iPad is to call AT&T. 1.800.331.0500.
Nov 30, 2021 · I went into setting to validate the device wasn't locked, and later learned that AT&T apparently doesn't "device" lock iPads. Yes, I went to the unlock website and because I'm not a customer and don't have a phone number, I entered the IMEI and the website didn't recognize it.
