Daingerfield State Park is a 506.913-acre (2.05140 km 2) state park in Morris County, Texas, southwest of Texarkana, including 80-acre (320,000 m 2) Lake Daingerfield. The park opened in 1938 and is managed by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
Daingerfield. Daingerfield is located in an area historically associated with agriculture, iron ore, and timberlands. Currently, the area is valued for its dense pine and hardwood forests, elements that provide a pastoral setting for this 501-acre park.
Daingerfield State Park was on our route and we spent 2 nights there. The park itself was beautiful and reasonably quiet, the facilities were spotless and the campground hosts were friendly and very knowledgeable.
The City of Daingerfield offers a wide range of events, seasonal festivals, and sports competitions, to spending time in our local parks, and relaxing with your family for an afternoon of outdoor fun. There are lots of activities to choose from.
The City of Daingerfield is located in Upper East Texas and is the county seat of Morris County. It is situated about 40 miles north of Longview and 20 miles southeast of Mount Pleasant. US Highway 259 runs north-south through the city, while Highway 11 takes an east-west route through the city.
Daingerfield State Park in East Texas covers an impressive 500 square acres of land, including an 80-acre man-made lake. The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) completed construction of the park in 1939 and the public has enjoyed it ever since.

Best Time To Visit: Hands down fall!!! The foliage is beautiful. Peak leaf time varies every year, but early to mid November is a good bet.
