Champaign (/ ˌ ʃ æ m ˈ p eɪ n / sham-PAYN) is a city in Champaign County, Illinois, United States. The population was 88,302 at the 2020 census. It is the tenth-most populous municipality in Illinois and the fourth most populous city in the state outside the Chicago metropolitan area.
- Downtown Champaign. Cozy and welcoming like a small town, but with sophisticated cultural venues and a bustling events calendar, downtown Champaign is an obvious first port of call in the city.

Some of the Spurlock Museum’s most important collections include Amazonian bark cloth, Merovingian bronzes, Mesopotamian cuneiform tablets and casts made from the Parthenon frieze.
