- "Wakanda Forever!" The Wakandan battle cry has become one of the most iconic quotes in the entire MCU and has been said by a number of characters. But it does feel especially powerful coming from Okoye as she has proven how dedicated she is to serve her nation above all else.

Okoye serves the Black Panther as a personal bodyguard and the nation of Wakanda as a torchbearer of tradition and virtue. Okoye is as deadly as she is wise, and stands as one of T’Challa’s most trusted allies and companions.
In 2008, on orders of T'Chaka, Okoye was sent with T'Challa when he went to save Wakandan hostages from Zanda and Douglas Scott, to report back on T'Challa's progress as the Black Panther. Saving the hostages while Black Panther distracted the mercenaries, Okoye ended up confronted by Scott.
