The 33,000-acre Chippewa County Forest offers a wide range of outdoor recreation opportunities. Much of the forest is located within the glaciated terminal moraine, created by the former Wisconsin Glacier. It consists of Oak, Aspen, and hardwood trees, with wetlands and lakes in the low-lying areas.
Parks remain open through the end of October. From mid-September through October, self-registration camping is available on a fist come, first served basis. Check in and Check out time is 1 PM. Day Park are is open to the public between the hours of 9 am and 10 pm. Please note: all non-camping guests must vacate the campground prior to 10 pm.
