  2. About the Court. Prior to 1916, the Court operated under the Justice of the Peace System until the General Assembly of the State of Ohio created the Municipal Court. In 1955, the Court was given countywide jurisdiction and in 1968 it's name was changed to the Franklin County Municipal Court.
