- One of the key accusers in the “ring boy” scandal that saw WWE being hit with multiple sexual misconduct allegations in the 1980s and early 1990s has committed suicide. According to the brother of Tom Cole, he committed suicide on Friday.

He worked for the World Wresting Federation (now known as the WWE), during the early 1970s and 80's, under the ring name Mel Phillips. Phillips was part of the Ring Boy Scandal after multiple allegations of Phillips sexually assaulting multiple underage ring boys, which came to light in 1992.
