Nov 19, 2014 · Every time I open an existing Excel spreadsheet I get a Book1 file opened too that is blank. I am currently using: Microsoft Office Standard 2010. Excel version 14.0.6129.5000. On Windows 7. Anyone know how to stop this from happening?

Jan 5, 2005 · If yes, use windows start button to search for your xlstart folder. If there's a file named book1.xls in there, move it or delete it. Don't delete any file named book.xlt or sheet.xlt. If that doesn't work, use windows start button|search to look for book1.xls. When you find it, move it or delete it.
Dec 5, 2005 · Re: Stop Opening Book1! If you're really opening book1.xls (with the .xls extension), look for that. book1.xls in your XLStart folder (and move it/delete it). But the only way I know of to stop book1 (without the .xls extension) from. opening is to use the /e option.
