Watching Tomoya scream for Nagisa to save Ushio sent chills down my spine. Ushio's death hit me much more than Nagisa's. Nagisa had accomplished some of her dreams, it seemed likely she was going to die anyway, and she did it giving birth to a child.
Tomoya awakens to Ushio's birth, but this time, Nagisa miraculously survives. After Nagisa watches Tomoya give Ushio her first bath, she and Tomoya see countless orbs of light are floating throughout the city outside the window.

The Ends of the Earth (大地の果て, Daichi no Hate?) is the eighteenth episode of Clannad ~After Story~. It was first broadcast in Japan on 12 February 2009. While on the trip, Tomoya buys a toy robot he picks out for Ushio to play with after they arrive in the countryside.

After suffering from the pain of losing both his wife and daughter, Tomoya’s grief was so great that it turned into a light orb and made its way to the IW with Ushio. But he wasn’t powerful enough to sustain a human form.
In Episode 24, Tomoya tells Ushio and Fuko a story about before Ushio was born and recaps the events of series. When Ushio and Fuko fall asleep, he states that he has a vague memory of Nagisa and Ushio dying, while not stating that he may have died.

Oct 30, 2008 · Tomoya's relationship with Ushio is weird. I thought it would be the opposite of what it is, considering Tomoya's own experience with his father. Great episode. Ushio is pretty much the cutest thing in existence. I like that she looks exactly like Nagisa - kind of explains Tomoya's distance from her.
