Jun 13, 2023 · Connor Everts, executive director of the Southern California Watershed Alliance and a vocal critic of desalination, said he has seen interest ebb and flow over the decades. One season of heavy precipitation like what California experienced in the winter of 2022–23 is often enough to stifle interest for years to come, he said.
