Soon after the Mexican-American War ended in 1848, the news of gold brought boom to California, and statehood in 1850, the 31st. Free docent tours are conducted of the historic Santa Barbara Courthouse located at 1100 Anacapa Street at 10:30am and 2:00pm Monday through Friday. Tours on Saturday and Sunday at 2:00pm.
