The cheapest gas I've found out there is in Barstow at the Circle K. Exit "Main Street East" and head west towards downtown. In less than a mile you'll see the Circle K on the right. Baker is the most expensive; 30 cents to 50 cents more per gallon. Ludlow prices are in between. The gas station on the south side of the freeway has a Dairy Queen!
If you need gas in Barstow, the Flying J truck stop is usually the cheapest in town. It's at the Lenwood road exit, right near all the outlets and food places. After Barstow, there's not much to see.
Oct 17, 2014 · Looking for a place to pull over/sleep for a few hours, somewhere between Barstow and Vegas on a Saturday night (e.g. midnight to 5:00 am). I know of a couple lighted lots near Peggy Sues. How about further north, perhaps Baker? What about the casino’s at Stateline? Can I simply pull into one of their lots, park and sleep?
If you're looking for a meeting place or a good stop around ½ or halfway between Barstow and Las Vegas, you can try Halloran Springs, CA, which is about 1 hour northeast of Barstow, or a little over 1 hour southwest of Las Vegas. Another possible place to stop near the midpoint is Yucca Grove.

There are numerous places, just pick whichever you prefer. I've stopped a few times at the Lenwood Road exit (Exit 178) a few miles west of Barstow where there's a cluster of gas stations and restaurants, but only because it was convenient, not because it was anything special.
