    Dan O'Shannon is an American writer and producer who has worked on shows such as Newhart, Cheers, and Frasier.

    He is best known as a co-executive producer and writer for Modern Family. He left the show at the end of Season 5 as he signed with CBS studious for a three-year overall deal. Under the pact, he will develop new comedy projects for network and cable.
