Apr 18, 2012 · Within the Soca music artform, there is but one band from the United States Virgin Islands, called the Awesome Jam Band, that for 32 successive years have been flying the flag of Soca music within the Virgin Islands, continually reinventing their sound, and keeping abreast and ahead of the changing Soca music landscape.
The Virgin Islands has been home to a number of well-known soca bands. Among the oldest and most respected are: Milo & The Kings, Mandingo Brass, Imaginations Brass, & Eddie & the Movements (later renamed the "Awesome JamBand"). The "Jam Band" (formerly Eddie & the Movements) are 20 time Road March Champions.
