Jan 25, 2019 · Kirstie Swain talks about adapting Rose Cartwright's book to become the TV series Pure. Tell us where the genesis of this project came from? Roanna Benn [Executive Producer] and Jen Kenwood [producer] from Drama Republic came to me with the book.
Kirstie feels that the Pure team were able to make entertaining television while highlighting serious mental health issues and achieving that balance was a great accomplishment for them all. She’s now lead writer on comedy drama Sweetpea for Sky Atlantic and will serve as an executive producer.
Kirstie Swain. I'm a Scottish screenwriter based in London. I was winner of the 2013 Frank Deasy Award for new writing and in the same year was selected for the Bush/Kudos Initiative and Broadcast Magazine's Hotshots. I'm a graduate of the 2012 BBC Writers Academy too.
