Matilda of England (June 1156 — June/July 1189) was an English princess of the House of Plantagenet and by marriage Duchess consort of Saxony and Bavaria from 1168 until her husband's deposition in 1180.

On February 1, 1168, at Minden Cathedral in the Duchy of Saxony, now in Saxony, Germany, 11-year-old Matilda married 38-year-old Heinrich. Despite the age difference, the marriage was a happy one and led to an increase in trade between England and the Holy Roman Empire.
In 1168, Matilda, the eldest daughter of Henry II of England, married Henry the Lion of Saxony and Bavaria, and it is clear that Saxony in particular became a centre of Becket devotion noticeably quickly after Becket's death and canonisation.
