- Marisa Monte. Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1967, Monte is an acclaimed Brazilian female singer, producer, and composer of Brazilian popular music and samba.
- Caetano Veloso. Born in Bahia state in 1942, Veloso is one of the most famous Brazilian singers and composers. He is also a writer and political activist.
