Today, the Bronx Zoo is world-renowned for its large and diverse animal collection, and its award-winning exhibitions. The zoo is part of an integrated system of four zoos and one aquarium managed by the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), and it is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).
Zoo Closes. 4:30pm. Last entry to the zoo is 45 min prior to park closing. Animal exhibits close 30 min prior to park closing. Exhibit line may close earlier if there is a wait time of more than 30 min. Bug Carousel and Nature Trek are open until park closing.

The Bronx Zoo is one of the most famous zoos in the world. In 1898, the City of New York allotted 250 acres of Bronx Park to the New York Zoological Society to build a park aimed at preserving native animals and promoting zoology.
Visit our new Animal Chronicles trail to explore amazing wildlife eco-sculptures capturing the history of Bronx Zoo conservation stories. Great photo ops! No Smoking.
