The Tourist Trap is an intermediate quest set in the Kharidian Desert. The quest involves an undercover rescue operation into a slave camp to save an Al Kharidian woman's daughter.

- Getting started. Begin the quest by talking to Irena, located just south of Shantay Pass (fairy ring BIQ, then run north-east). ( 1•1•2•1•1)
- Getting into the camp. Recommended: Food and combat equipment. Go to the Desert Mining Camp entrance (south of Irena). Talk to the Mercenary Captain. ( 1•2•2•2•1)
- Getting into the mine. Talk to the Male slave on the east wall (not the south-east wall) when a guard is not nearby. ( 1•2•1•1•1•1•1) If you've already talked to him.
- The plans. Talk to Al Shabim in the south tent in the Bedabin Camp (directly west of the Desert Mining Camp). You will be given a Bedabin key. ( 1•1) Go back to the Desert Mining Camp.
- Talk to Irena just south of Shantay Pass and she will tell you about her daughter Ana who has not returned from a trip into the desert. Agree to help her head south to find some footprints.
- Follow the trail of footprints through the desert to the Desert Mining Camp.
- Talk to the Mercenaries around there until you get them to admit that they don't like the Captain. This will cost you 5 gp per bribe. Find out that the Captain doesn't like to fight his own battles.
- Now talk to the Captain and pick the following options during the conversation: Wow! A real Captain! I'd love to work for a tough guy like you! Can't I do something for a strong Captain like you?
