Black Moshannon is our favorite state park in the State College area. My family and I are not really "outdoorsy" people, but we like to go swimming in the lake and take pontoon boat rides. The dark water makes it a very special experience.

Black Moshannon State Park (or Black Mo as it’s often called by locals) is best known for its lake which appears jet black thanks to a bog that occupies large parts of the park.
