May 20, 2024 · Charlotte’s Discovery Place celebrated a groundbreaking of a new environmental education center and nature museum in Freedom Park. The new center will replace the old nature museum that was built in the 50s.
Located in the charming city of Charlotte, the Charlotte Nature Museum is a sanctuary for nature enthusiasts and curious minds alike. Nestled within the vibrant Freedom Park, this museum is a place where the wonders of the Carolinas' wildlife and natural history come alive.
Discovery Place Nature, formerly Charlotte Nature Museum, is located at 1658 Sterling Road in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Museum features interactive nature exhibits and live animal displays, including a butterfly pavilion, live species, insects , and a variety of native North Carolina animals.
Little ones can get close to wildlife and walk among free-flying butterflies in Butterfly Pavilion, observe live animals in Creature Cavern, buzz by Insect Alley, hang out in Our Big Backyard, walk the Paw Paw Nature Trail in the 100-year-old forest or go wild in Fort Wild. Duration: 2-3 hours.

Mysteries at the Museum > Rising 5 & 6 Graders Science is full of mysteries to be solved! Campers will work together to explore the truth behind medical anomalies, uncover the unknowns of the universe and view specimens of strange species.

Dec 11, 2020 · When stir craziness starts to set in, one of my favorite places to take my boys is the Charlotte Nature Museum, Discovery Place Nature. Located next to Freedom Park, this little jewel is full of things to keep kids entertained during these rain-filled (or insanely hot) summer days.
