Hyperion Pictures (also known as Hyperion Films or Hyperion Studios or Hyperion Animation) is an American independent film production and distribution company founded by Thomas L. Wilhite, who had previously been the head of motion picture and television production for The Walt Disney Company, and writer/director Willard Carroll.
Hyperion is the first studio to emphasize production of ethnically and culturally diverse animation with the theatrical feature Bebe's Kids (Paramount) and TV series The Proud Family (Disney), Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child (HBO), and Da Boom Crew (Kids' WB).

Hyperion Studio The Disney brothers moved their Studio from the original Kingswell Avenue location to 2719 Hyperion in Los Angeles in January 1926, and named it The Walt Disney Studio. Over the years, a number of buildings were constructed to house Walt Disney’s growing staff.
The original site of The Walt Disney Studios is now a Gelson’s supermarket. In 1926 the Disneys renamed the company “The Walt Disney Studios” and moved their office from a rented store at 4649 Kingswell Avenue to a new location here in the Silver Lake district of LA at 2719 Hyperion Avenue, just across the river from Atwater Village.
