The "cadet-ettes" never wore the traditional blue-gray uniforms, but followed the same academic curriculum and disciplinary rules as the male cadets. In 1896 he purchased a historic plantation house in Lyndon, KY and opened for the new fall term.
Here is mine Cadet of the Kentucky military Institute (KMI) in 1861. The only known example of a pre war KMI uniform known to exist in the world is in the Civil War Museum in Bardstown KY see caption.
