The four possibilities that I have for the ending were as follows: Somehow (maybe natural disaster?) everyone dies, except Jasper. This would make him "the last man on earth". From here, I could see him travelling the world for, say, 20 years, then having a similar moment of him about to kill himself, then finding another person.
