The Redhook Ale Brewery is a beer brewery operating out of Seattle, Washington, United States. It was founded in Seattle in 1981 by Paul Shipman and Gordon Bowker, and is currently owned by Tilray. Its flagship brewery, the Redhook Brewlab, is located in the Pike Motorworks building in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood.

Apr 29, 2015 · Redhook started brewing in a converted auto repair shop in Ballard in 1981 or 1982. There is some debate, but the way I always knew the story, the company was founded in ’81 but sold its first keg in ’82. Circa 1981. Workers hang the first Redhook sign at the original brewery in Ballard.
