Go to the "Location History" section of your Google Account. Choose whether your account or your devices can report Location History to Google. Your account and all devices: At the top, turn Location History on or off. Only a certain device: Under "This device" or "Devices on this account," turn the device on or off.

Timeline measures distances in miles or kilometers is based on your country or region. On your computer, open Google Maps. Sign in with the same Google Account that you use on your mobile device. At the top left, click Menu . Click Timeline . To find another date, at the top, choose a day, month, and year.
Give Maps location permission in your browser. On your computer, open Chrome and go to Google Maps. At the bottom right, click My location . If you're asked to share your location, choose Allow. If the blue dot appears and shows your location, then Maps already has location permission in your browser.
Add a place. On your computer, sign in to My Maps. Open or create a map. A map can have up to 10,000 lines, shapes, or places. Click Add marker . Select a layer and click where to put the place. A layer can have 2,000 lines, shapes, or places. Give your place a name. Click Save.
Next to "Base map" in the bottom of the left panel, click the Down Arrow . To choose a style, click one of the images. View maps you can’t edit. If you can open a map but can’t edit what’s on it, you're in the map viewer. While in the map viewer, you can still: Search the map contents; Show or hide layers; View the map with satellite imagery

Select a place on the map in either one of these ways: Search for a place or tap it on the map. Search for a category, like “restaurants” or “shopping malls,” then tap View map and choose a place. Swipe down on the placesheet. Tap Live . Once you’re in Live View: Follow the on-screen instructions to help Maps find your location.
