    Moroccan Chicken Wings
    Food.com
From Southern Living's Ultimate Book of Appetizers, these sound tasty. NOTE #1: Based on the 4 previous reviews, I've changed the recipe to decrease the amount of cinnamon, since the reviews indicate that the recipe seems heavy on the cinnamon. Original recipe calls for 2 tablespoons of cinnamon -- you make the call! NOTE #2: The directions for this recipe seemed somewhat lacking in the book, so I embellished a little. I would recommend for step #7, to either spray or spritz the oil on the chicken rather than brushing it on.
    Crook's Corner Shrimp and Grits
    Food.com
Crook's Corner is a restaurant in Chapel Hill, NC. This is a dish served at the restaurant and I found the recipe in the latest Southern Living magazine. I made this last night for dinner and my husband and I went nuts for it, it's the ultimate comfort food. Don't let the long list of ingredients throw you off, this goes together quickly and easily.
    The Ospidillo Cafe Crab Chowder
    Food.com
But it's NOT crab -- it's imitation crabmeat so it's CHEAP... and delicious! I created this one because I really like the cream chowders that I've savored in New England. We have trouble obtaining good seafood where I live here in southern Ohio, so I decided to make due with what I COULD get. One thing that's always cheap and available around here is frozen imitation crabmeat. So I gave this a lot of thought, did some preliminary experimentation, and this dish was the ultimate result. I'm very happy with this recipe and I find it quite similar in flavor to a rich clam chowder. The idea of using local fresh and common vegetables worked out well for boosting the flavor too. While the veggies enhance the dish, make no mistake about it, this recipe definitely conveys the full ambiance of a seafood chowder. Cooking and prep times are approximate. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. big pat.
    Southern Living's Tarragon Cream Chicken
    Food.com
This is my go-to recipe when company is coming. Everyone who tries this chicken thinks it is absolutely delicious. I just love it! It is my favorite recipe to eat and to make. I serve it with a light salad, my Garlic Butter New Potatoes (also posted), and some lightly roasted asparagus. I have also used boneless, skinless chicken thighs in the past instead of the chicken breasts. This adds great flavor. I believe I made 5-6 thighs. I took this recipe from Southern Living magazine, and it is also in their Ultimate Quick and Easy cookbook. Enjoy!
    Chocolate-Cherry Bread Pudding
    Food.com
This recipe is from Southern Living's ultimate chocolate recipe booklet. Every now and then, when I'm in the middle of a choc-o-tack, I make something out of this book. Once, I made this bread pudding (more of a bread)and it was sooo good but alas, gone so quickly. It's very moist and I like it with a little whipped cream and a maraschino cherry on top! The Southern Living booklet said that this dessert got their highest rating due to the juicy cherries and triple chocolate flavor. MmmMMMMMmmmm.......
    Garlic Butter New Potatoes
    Food.com
I love this recipe. It is so simple, and yet, so delicious. I serve these potatoes with my Tarragon Cream Chicken. However, they are a delicious accompaniment to any meal. I took this recipe from Southern Living. It can be found in their Ultimate Quick and Easy cookbook. I generally do make a couple of changes- I add 1/4-1/2 tsp. salt to the garlic butter. I also often add minced fresh dill when I have it. Enjoy!
    Black Bean Spaghetti
    Food.com
I found this recipe in the "Ultimate Southern Living Cookbook". It's a great vegetarian recipe that even my 2 year old loves. Serve with a salad and garlic bread. You won't miss the meat!
    Shrimp Versailles
    Food.com
THE ULTIMATE ROMANTIC Dinner. Just add a green salad, garlic bread, a little chardonnay & CANDLES. This is the best pasta dish in the whole world and it is so easy. Another Southern Living recipe.
Southern Living's Chicken Piccata/ Piccata Chicken Breasts
    Food.com
I found this recipe in Southern Living's Ultimate Quick & Easy Cookbook. My family LOVES it. It is very simple and quick, but it tastes delicious. I serve it with crisp baby green beans and various kinds of rice. In the past, I have added minced garlic and chopped parsley to the last cooking step (when you reduce the broth to make a light sauce). Enjoy!
