There are three boat access campsites on the south shore of Caldron Falls Flowage. These sites are reservable and only accessed by boat (canoe or powerboat). All sites have a canoe rack, place to tie up a boat, picnic table, fire ring, tent area, bear-proof food box, bench and outdoor toilet.

Park contains a small lake with a nice beach and changing house. The camping areas look very nice. Far end of the park is on a reservoir flowage with a large fishing pier and a boat launch site. The park has a multitude of long and shorter trails to hike and explore.
Over 6 miles of shoreline on Caldron Falls Flowage, 3000 acres of scenic forest, inland lakes and ponds make up the Governor Thompson State Park. Visitors will enjoy 16 miles of hiking trails in the summer or cross-country skiing on 6 miles of groomed trails in the winter months.

Governor Thompson State Park is a 2,800-acre (1,133 ha) state park in Wisconsin, USA, in development approximately 15 miles (24 km) northwest of Crivitz. The park contains 6.5 miles (10.5 km) of shoreline on the Caldron Falls Reservoir, part of the Peshtigo River, and 5,300 feet (1,600 m) of shoreline on two small kettle lakes.
