Jun 9, 2024 · The Stanford University Libraries is pleased to present the shortlist for the eleventh William Saroyan International Prize for Writing (Saroyan Prize), a Prize intended to encourage new or emerging writers and honor the Saroyan literary legacy of originality, vitality and stylistic innovation.
William Saroyan International Prize for Writing. Entries must be received by January 31, 2024. Submissions are now being accepted for the 11th William Saroyan International Prize for Writing. Two prizes of $5,000 each are given for works of fiction and nonfiction.
Two prizes of $5,000 each are given biennially for books of fiction and nonfiction published in the previous two years. The awards, cosponsored by the Stanford Libraries and the William Saroyan Foundation, are “intended to encourage new or emerging writers and honor the Saroyan legacy of originality, vitality, and stylistic innovation.”
Fill out the entry form and submit your work online at: williamsaroyansociety.org/writingcontest. AWARDS | First, second and third place will be selected in each grade division (K-2nd, 3rd-4th, 5th-6th, 7th-8th, 9th-12th). Prizes will be awarded at an awards ceremony with reception.
