     As others described quite well, you cannot easily 'decrypt' an MD5 hash.

     I guess the best way to do your password recovery is like this:

     • A user can request password recoveryby providing his email address (it should be unique so users can be identified by email address).
     • an email is sent to his address with alink containing a unique hash (whichyou have generated when sending theemail and saved it to the db).
     • when the link is clicked by the user (andof course the unique hash is checkedto be equal with the one in the db)you can show a form which lets themchoose a different password.

     Another route that some people use is to simply ask for the email address, generate a new password and send it to the user. The problem with this one is that someone who knows only your email address can request a password change. He won't know the new pass, and you will get it by email, but still it is very inconvenient for the user.

     Just save the expiration time with the reset token in the database, and when the time has expired just don't accept the reset token anymore. This is by far the easiest and safest method.

     Another way would be creating a reset hash, appending the time, and encrypting that with a secret key. Decrypt and check the timestamp when you check the hash. If the key leaked, however, this method becomes as weak as just putting it in plain text in the URL.

     This is only a bad workaround since we don't have a "Password recovery with SMS" in Firebase.

     Step 1: Authenticate the user with Phone number. Step 2: Delete the user and save the UserId. Step 3: Create new user with same email Id. Step 4: This will generate a new user with different UserId. Replace the old UserId whereever stored with the new one.
