Donald Lyman Perris was born June 9, 1923 in Cleveland, Ohio the son of David Perris (one of Cleveland's leading attorneys) and Kathrine Lyman. He died March 6, 2006 at age 82 in a Florida hospital, a broadcast pioneer and long-time Scripps Howard executive.
