I had the same problem and I found a reliable fix. After downloading a free version as well as a paid version of HEVC codec for Windows didn't work, I installed DivX Pro media player. Had to shell out $20 but it is able to play the 10 bit files from the A7siii although still no thumbnails in Windows explorer. Hope this helps.
