From what I've read on the PCSX2 forums, the only bios not to use is the first one, SCPH-10000 (ps2-0100j-20000117.bin), due to compatibility. All the others behave the same for PCSX2. I can finally play shadow hearts 1 after all these years 😭😭!!!
They should. Every BIOS file you're seeing comes from different PS2 hardware revisions. Preferrably, you should use the US BIOS file. Just copy them all in a folder, set that folder as the BIOS folder in PCSX2 and the PCSX2 window will list available BIOSes. That way you can be sure the right files are in.

Again, false. only the versions past 2.0 fail to boot the Euro or usa games, all region bios's up till 2.0 (and including 2.0) can boot games from any region without issue. I've had a fair few ps2's pass through here to verify that.
