Arena Season 11 (Cataclysmic) started on December 6, 2011, one week after patch 4.3.0 and the end of Season 10. It ended on August 29, 2012, coinciding with the release of patch 5.0.4. The season lasted 38 weeks.
The season added new items that can be bought for [Conquest Points]; the Cataclysmic Gladiator item sets and the Elite Cataclysmic Gladiator item sets. The season also made Ruthless Gladiator items available for [Honor Points].

During the season there craftable Vicious items and an upgraded version of Ruthless gear, branded as "Season 11" instead of "Season 10", available.

Ruthless Gladiator
•Sold by T'Maire Sydes in Stormwind, Blood Guard Zar'shi in Orgrimmar for [Honor Points]. •Except for weapons and relics, the items sold were the upgraded Season 11 Ruthless set. •The items that dropped from Occu'thar were still the Season 10 variants with item level 384.
Cataclysmic Gladiator
•Sold by Captain Dirgehammer in Stormwind, and Sergeant Thunderhorn in Orgrimmar.
Elite Cataclysmic Gladiator
•Sold by Lieutenant Tristia in Stormwind, Doris Chiltonius in Orgrimmar or Nargle Lashcord in Dalaran. •Required the equivalent Cataclysmic Gladiator item in addition to [Conquest Points]. •Required 2200 Personal rating in 3v3 or 5v5 Arena, or Rated Battleground. •The items are recolors of the Cataclysmic Gladiator set.
•Popular 3v3 comps at the time included RLS, Triple DPS (mainly Retribution, Subtletly and Marksmanship) and LSD2 (Affliction, Restoration and Balance).

On September 10, The War Within Season 1 will begin with Heroic and Raid Finder Wing 1 of Nerub-ar Palace opening, Mythic 0 dungeons also become available along with Heroic Seasonal dungeons and the new World bosses.
