Erased (released as The Expatriate outside of the US) is a 2012 Canadian-Belgian action thriller film directed by Philipp Stölzl, starring Aaron Eckhart and Olga Kurylenko.
And "Erased" is powerfully made, with good claustrophobic and jittery camera-work, believable acting, and a reasonable (if roughly familiar) plot. You get swept up quickly, as Aaron Eckhart juggles a high-security job and a teenage daughter going to private school.
ERASED (formerly known as The Expatriate) lazily borrows plot twists and ideas from many other recent thrillers, especially those starring Liam Neeson. Though Stolzl's work may be competent, his fight and chase sequences are numbingly familiar and barely even quicken the pulse.
