Funkadelic and Parliament. By the late 1960s, Clinton had assembled a touring band to back up the Parliaments, the first stable lineup of which included Billy Bass Nelson (bass), Eddie Hazel (lead guitarist), Tawl Ross (guitarist), Tiki Fulwood (drums), and Mickey Atkins (keyboards).
Led by bassist Nelson, guitarist Hazel, drummer Fulwood, and classically trained keyboardist Worrell, Funkadelic incorporated the influence of amplified, psychedelic rock into its distinctive sound. By 1970 Clinton was producing albums for both the renamed Parliament and Funkadelic—essentially the same entity recording for different labels.
Of the more than 200 members listed, the sixteen whose names are shown in bold italics were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as members of Parliament-Funkadelic in 1997. One other listed member, Sly Stone , was inducted into the Hall in 1993 as the leader of Sly and the Family Stone .
