Since 2019, Sam Rivers is using 5-string Fender Jazz Basses live with Limp Bizkit. Rivers has also been seen using Wal Basses since 2005, mainly in the studio and uses Ampeg and Warwick amps.
May 13, 2001 · From what I read in Bass Player, he used to play Ibanez basses. He has since switched over to Warwick. He did have Ibanez modify the bridge to a monorail on at least one of them, and had LED's installed on the black one (a fretless, I believe).
Though most famously a tenor saxophonist, he also performed on soprano saxophone, bass clarinet, flute, harmonica, piano and viola. Active in jazz since the early 1950s, he earned wider attention during the mid-1960s spread of free jazz.
Jul 17, 2003 · Sam Rivers uses mostly custombuilt Warwick Streamer Stage 1, 5-string basses. (I'm a big Warwick nerd, so I know who use them, and don't use them). And his sound is good (so is the most mainstream bands, great producers, engineers etc.), but you really can't fail with a Warwick in your hands.
