What is the admissions process like at the Air Force Academy?
To declare a major, meet with your Associate Air Officers Commanding for Academics. Cadets must declare a major by October of their third semester. In addition to their primary program of study, cadets can earn a minor or multiple majors. Contact your academic advisor for details.
To be eligible to apply to the Academy, applicants must be: at least 17 but not past their 23rd birthday by July 1 of the year they enter the Academy; a U.S. Citizen (international students are eligible under different requirements) and unmarried with no dependents.
Every cadet is different, but to earn an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy, you must meet certain basic requirements. Be at least 17 but not past your 23rd birthday by July 1 of the year you enter the Academy. Be a United States citizen.
Academic requirements for admission to the Air Force Academy are based on academic record transcript and college admissions tests (SAT or ACT scores).
