Youhei Sunohara (春原陽平, Sunohara Yōhei?) is Tomoya Okazaki's best friend who is also a delinquent. He entered the Hikarizaka Private High School on an athletic recommendation in soccer, but was kicked out of the Soccer Club after being involved in a fight.
The reason why Sunohara was "okay" with the idea of Tomoya dating Mei is because of how he was feeling at the time (human emotions can/will greatly alter someone's thought processes/decision making). Also, Tomoya is one of the very few people who is close to him, Tomoya is someone Sunohara trusts.
I feel it doesn't really get discussed much (which is fair enough considering how much emotion is packed into the later episodes), but I find Sunohara's story arc in After story, specifically the part where he and Tomoya fight over Mei's protection, to be really touching, every time I watch it my eyes well up
