Oct 18, 2010 · My 357w has Eagle I-beam rods and should make somewhere around 530-540hp at the crank; shifts should be at 6700 rpms. Edelbrock, Trick Flow and others make intakes specifically for this application. Spyder intakes will work.
Mar 12, 2017 · A well built 500-550hp 408 isn't going to idle smooth. It is also a long-term project. After doing a couple, it is not a drop-in-and-go deal, you have to tune, you will find weak links, you will also find that the 351w block doesn't really fit in the car which is most likely why Ford stayed with the 5.0.
