International Film Festival Rotterdam ( IFFR) is an annual film festival held at the end of January in various locations in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, focused on independent and experimental films. The inaugural festival took place in June 1972, led by founder Huub Bals.

Dec 19, 2019 · At its press conference on 18 December, the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) unveiled the full lineup of its 49th edition. The announcement includes the 10 titles running in the Tiger competition, as well as the 9 picks for the Big Screen Competition and the 15 feature-length debuts in the Bright Future Competition.
Between 25 January and 5 February 2023, more than 450 films from a hundred countries will be shown across Rotterdam. Long films, shorts, documentaries, animations, drama, fantasy, horror: every genre imaginable is represented in the packed programme.
