- Adolph I, Count of Nassau-Wiesbaden-Idstein (1307 – 17 January 1370) was a son of Count Gerlach I and Agnes of Hesse. In 1344, his father abdicated in favor of his sons. They ruled jointly until 1355, then divided their inheritance: Adolph I inherited Nassau-Wiesbaden-Idstein (this line died out in the male line in 1605)
Count Adolf III of Nassau-Wiesbaden-Idstein (by a different way of counting: Adolf IV; 10 November 1443 – 6 July 1511) was a son of Count John II of Nassau-Wiesbaden-Idstein and his wife Maria of Nassau-Dillenburg (1463–1504). After his father's death in 1480, he ruled Nassau-Wiesbaden and his brother Philip ruled Nassau-Idstein.

Er war der einzige Sohn des Grafen Walram IV. von Nassau-Wiesbaden-Idstein (1354–1393) und dessen Frau Bertha von Westerburg († 24. März 1418). Sein Onkel war als Johann II. von 1397 bis 1419 Kurfürst und Erzbischof von Mainz. Graf Adolfs einzige Schwester war seit 1398 mit Graf Heinrich VII. von Waldeck verheiratet.
