May 22, 2007 · Ghazaryan, a victim of the devastating 1988 Armenian earthquake that leveled his hometown of Spitak, had been airlifted to the United States by AmeriCares for a damaged leg and a crushed skull. Now, eighteen years later, AmeriCares brought Ghazaryan back to New York to attend the gala and reunite with the various people who helped him recover.
Arman Ghazaryan was born on July 24, 2001 in Yerevan. He started playing football at the age of 5, attending Urartu FC youth school (formerly Banants FC). In 2012, he was recognized as the best defender of the championship as part of the Urartu youth team.
