He has led several national initiatives, including an historic new plan to end the HIV Epidemic in America, the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans, and the revised Common Rule.

Brett P. Giroir, MD is the CEO of Altesa BioSciences, a biotechnology company that develops novel antiviral medicines for viral infections. He is a former US Assistant Secretary for Health and Admiral, US Public Health Service, and the inaugural CEO of ViraCyte (now AlloVir).
