You can easily change your number through your myAT&T account. We have a great article which goes over how to do so. There is a fee involved which is currently $36.

In the US you can keep the same cell phone number even if you move to a different state, it is a 10 digit number and the first 3 numbers are the area code from where you got your cell phone. Nov 15, 2023 · Porting is not always possible. If you are moving to a new geographic area, you may not be able to keep your current phone number when changing providers. Also, some rural wireline service providers may obtain waivers for the porting requirement from state authorities. Their customers may be unable to port their number to a new provider.
Go to DoNotCall.gov or call 1-888-382-1222 (TTY: 1-866-290-4236) from the phone you want to register. It’s free. If you register your number at DoNotCall.gov, you’ll get an email with a link you have to click on within 72 hours to complete your registration.
