Jan 2023. Dante's View is a scenic overlook about 5,000 feet above Badwater Basin with spectacular views. We came up here for sunrise one morning while staying in Death Valley and it was beautiful. The views down to Death Valley and across to Telescope Peak are amazing.

Dante’s View Trail is a 1 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail, that offers the chance to see wildlife and is good for all skill levels. Sections of the trail will give you the thrill of walking on the edge of a mountain peak but the trail itself is well maintained.
Dante's view offers a great view on DV, mostly on Badwater. It is incredible to see this huge salted area from above and definitely you get a good perspective that you cannot enjoy at Badwater. However to reach Dante's view you need a good 30 minutes from the road, and if you are in a hurry, I would not put the place in the top ranking of DV.
